Sports and diets have limited effects against fat deposits

Excess fat deposits are a problem that affects many people, even despite eating healthily and exercising regularly. Diets and fitness cannot reach all problem areas because hormone-induced fat deposits, such as on the hip in women or on the breast in men, tend to store fat regardless of physical activity or food intake. Modern living often entails the consumption of industrially- produced food, high stress levels, and irregular sleep behaviour that disturbs the natural biorhythm. Genetic components also affect the distribution of body fat, and these manifest more seriously with age.

Liposuction: A gentle way to a slim silhouette

Nowadays, many people want to lose weight to feel healthier, more comfortable, and more confident about their appearances. In many cases, however, the desired success is not achieved—despite a disciplined diet and a tailored to the body fitness program. There are many factors that cause this. Some of these factors can be partially controlled, for example the food products we consume. But barely anyone can completely avoid industrially processed foods, overcome the stresses of work and everyday life, sleep well every night, or find time for hours of exercise every day. It is also difficult to influence the body's own hormone chemistry, although it is primarily responsible for unsightly fat deposits, such as can accumulate around the hips, stomach, thighs, or upper arms.

Liposuction has helped many people regain confidence in their physical appearances when such difficulties have affected them. For example, the liposuction procedure consistently helps people who dislike the appearance of a ‘double chin’ or excess belly fat. There are in fact many regions of the body upon which liposuction can be used to gently remove unwanted fatty tissue. Liposuction today represents a low-risk and well-accepted procedure, which we can carry out in our center in an outpatient setting. Naturally, it is greatly important for us to consider the wishes and feelings of our clients, and to fully understand what they expect from the procedure. For this reason we place particular importance upon the provision of detailed information, alongside holistic monitoring, to help our clients achieve the best possible treatment result.

State-of-the-art technology for particularly gentle liposuction

With more than 25 years of professional experience, we have implemented many advanced liposuction techniques. These include ultrasound, and water- and laser-based liposuction systems. We currently use power-assisted liposuction (PAL) in our center, because of the superior aesthetic and medical results that can be achieved. PAL is the gentlest technique for liposuction, based on loosening the fatty tissue by vibrating the aspiration cannulas. The use of PAL enables the precision removal of fatty tissue, even in areas of the body that are normally difficult to reach, and is equally suitable for the removal of fatty tissue in larger areas. These include calves, ankles, abdomen, hips, upper arms, male and female breasts, and the back.

During the procedure, our clients are in an induced half-sleep, and barely feel the intervention; liposuction in our center is not painful. We ensure that the surgical risk is minimal by maintaining a generous margin of safety to any vulnerable nerves and vessels. Nonetheless, suction is an invasive intervention in the body, which is why we recommend that our clients wear compression garments for a period of six weeks after surgery to ensure that the treated parts of the body can regenerate quickly and evenly, and with absolutely minimal risk. The first effects of liposuction can be seen after two weeks and the final result is normally achieved in about six months.

Liposuction not only creates new aesthetics, but also promotes good health

Liposuction is not only a procedure for people who want to get rid of excess fat. For instance, the treatment helps people with health problems, such as obesity, and patients with lipoedema, a lipid metabolism alteration that results in uncontrolled increases in fatty tissue around the hip, stomach, legs or arms, causing severe pain. Liposuction is naturally accompanied by a reduction in body mass index (BMI), which has positive consequences for the cardiovascular system and physical fitness.

In cases where large quantities of fat are removed, a combined treatment of liposuction and facelift can contribute to an optimal result. Carboxytherapy is also possible in combination with liposuction, because it improves microcirculation in treated areas of the skin, which can have a positive impact on cellulite or stretch mark treatment.
